A Snag in Nootka Arm.
During commercial fishing operations off Vancouver Island in Nootka Sound and near Kingcome / King's Inlet, commercial gear snagged on ancient deep-sea cold-water coral formations. Pulling those delicate, centuries-old calcified structures to the surface was an unforgettable watershed moment.
It revealed the immense vulnerability of the Pacific Northwest's unbuffered benthic seabed—ecosystems experiencing rapid ocean acidification and warming without any active restoration defenses. Traditional conservation was purely passive; it could not outpace the rate of chemical collapse.

Roland Poulin
SVOP Captain and seasoned commercial fisherman who spent years working coastal BC waters. Roland is the sole author and architect of Atlantis-Pyramid LLM, pioneering its Glass Sponge-inspired hierarchical memory structure and biogeochemical reasoning models.
Prior to Coralfil, Roland built a strong foundation in CRM, marketing automation, and founded Aftermarket Digital (an official Shopify Partner firm), where he innovated dataset-driven vehicle parts filtering (year/make/model/trim/engine) that set the standard across the automotive aftermarket.

PADI Certified Diver, SVOP Captain, and deep-sea operations lead with extensive marine logistics expertise across British Columbia.
Alex leads Shellforge manufacturing logistics, raw shell supply chain aggregation across Baynes Sound processors, and deployment protocols for Nuristone™ and Coastal Crush™ marine grade restoration.
